Canon and medium: Heartcatch Precure! - Anime
Age: Pre: 14 - Re: 16
Preincarnation Species: Human
Preincarnation Appearance: Link! - Tsubomi on the left, Cure Blossom on the right. And a close-up of Tsubomi.
Any differences: Mostly the same, except she's no longer Japanese and, obviously, her eyes aren't pink. They're blue now. Also, she still wears her glasses and wears her hair in a single ponytail, since Erika wasn't around to push her into her new look.
Preincarnated History: Tsubomi at the Precure wiki.
[EDIT] In the world of Heartcatch Precure, there is a tree known as the Heart Tree. This tree is the source of Heart Flowers, which are the hearts or souls of people given form as flowers symbolic to them. For centuries, legendary warriors known as Precure have protected the Heart Tree.
One such Precure was Cure Moonlight, who was defeated by the Desert Apostles, who want to destroy the Heart Tree. Her last fight, with an evil Precure known as Dark Precure, was witnessed by Tsubomi as a dream.
This dream was what allowed her to become the next Precure herself, after meeting two fairies named Chypre and Coffret. With Chypre's help, she became Cure Blossom. Funnily enough, she was unknowingly following in her grandmother's footsteps, as she too had been a Precure many years ago.
Later, Tsubomi was joined by two other Cures in her fight against the Desert Apostles. Early on, she as joined by Erika Kurumi, who despite their initial conflict became her best friend and most trusted partner. She became Cure Marine. Then there was Itsuki Myoudouin, the student council president of their school... Who Tsubomi had initially mistaken for a guy and had fallen for. She became Cure Sunshine.
Much, much later, Cure Moonlight, actually Yuri Tsukikage, would join them again, though it took a lot of convincing.
And then the big bad Dune came, kicked their ass and turned the whole world into a desert. During Christmas. Wow, what a jerk.
Thankfully Precure powers apparently let people breathe in space, allowing the four to go up and defeat Dune. Although not before figuring out that Dark Precure was Yuri's sister, Sabaku was her father and Dune went and killed Sabaku. The only thing stopping Yuri from going on a rampage right then and there was Tsubomi's interference, who insisted that a Precure should not fight with hate, but with love.
After that, the girls defeated Dune once and for all, turning the world back to normal and ending the Desert Apostles for good.
Reincarnated History: Cerise, or Cherry as she was later nicknamed, was born an only child. Originally she lived in Paris, France. Her father had moved there when he was younger, being half French on his father's side and wanting to connect with his roots. He got a job at a perfume company and moved his way up the ranks, eventually meeting and falling in love with another employee, Cherry's mother. They didn't live together as a family for very long, though, as they rose up the ladder quickly.
With little time to raise their daughter and with neither wanting to give up their job either, which sent them on many business trips, they were at a loss. Then a solution presented itself. Cherry's grandmother, her father's mother, offered to look after the child whenever they were away. So when Cherry was two, they moved to Locke City, where her grandmother lived. Whenever her parents were away, Cherry was left with her grandmother.
It wasn't too bad at first, but as her parents became more successful, they had less and less time. Cherry saw less and less of them as time went on. When she became a teenager, she spent more time with her grandmother than her parents.
Not wanting them to see her as a burden, Cherry never once told them that she disliked the arrangement and they are none the wiser. Whenever they leave, she sees them off with a smile, then cries silently when she is alone. She refuses to tell even her grandmother this, despite being very close to her.
This closeness led to Cherry developing an interest in plants and flowers, as her grandmother used to be a botanist before she retired.
When she turned sixteen, her grandmother pushed her into getting a job. Obviously not because they need the money, but in the hopes that the girl would open up more. Cherry was not pleased with the idea, but relented in the end and got herself a job at a flower shop.
Her grandmother is, in fact, one of the few people she really talks to, as Cherry grew up very isolated from everyone. Incredibly shy, she never managed to connect to her peers in school, always being very quiet.
First Echo: While working in the flower shop around October, Cherry noticed some white cyclamens had wilted. When she went to put them away, she triggered her first Echo - the memory of seeing a white cyclamen turn red start to wilt and that this was very bad for some reason.
Preincarnation Personality: First and foremost, Tsubomi is an extremely shy individual. Ever since she was young, she had trouble making friends, always preferring to cling to her grandmother. The only friends she needed, or so she thought, were flowers. Honestly, Tsubomi did want friends, but she was too scared to talk to people.
When she did talk to people, she wasn't very good at it. Prone to stammering, talking too quietly and flailing, she wasn't good at making the first move. She wasn't very good at asserting herself either, so she had difficulty telling people no and was bad at dealing with energetic girls.
But underneath her shyness, there is a very determined girl, who wants desperately to change herself. She's very aware of her faults, especially how shy she is and she hates it. With the help of her friends and over the course of the series, she did change, becoming more confident. But she also learned how to love herself. All of herself, including her introverted self.
Loving herself was the only type of caring she had difficulty with though, as Tsubomi is a very kind person. Even when she's afraid to speak up, she always tries to help others when she can. She always listens and does whatever she can to help out, even if the person in need doesn't ask for any help. She just can't stand seeing people hurt. Nor does she like to see others wronged. Her courageous side mostly comes out when she sees someone being hurt or bullied by someone else. When this happens, she'll swallow her fear and confront the one responsibly, albeit nervously.
Following up on that, she doesn't judge people and never looks down on them, no matter what. She also doesn't let what other people think influence her own thoughts. Not that she's fully aware of this herself. When her whole class and all her friends were frightened by one of their very intimidating classmates, Ban, she didn't even notice that there was anything to be scared of, instead treating him like anyone else.
Tsubomi is very forgiving, even when she is being wronged. She doesn't hold grudges, always doing her best to understand where others are coming from. She doesn't like to hate anyone and believes it's a Precure's duty to fight with love, not hate. And she does have to fight, so she can't be a pacifist. But she doesn't go all out unless she really has to, wanting to solve things by talking or other means if possible.
Even Tsubomi has her limits, though. When that limit is reached, she stops holding back and the legendary warrior in her comes out. She loses her fear in these moments, becoming very brave, confident and determined.
Any differences: Like Tsubomi, Cherry had a lonely childhood and became very shy as a result. Unlike Tsubomi, she never managed to open up. She never managed to reconnect with her parents, so she's still alone most of the time. As a result of this, she is very much withdrawn.
While she would still like to change the way she is, Cherry doesn't make an effort to make this happen, instead quietly accepting things as they are. She has very little self-worth and is always afraid that she's a burden to people.
She's very closed off emotionally, as she's still pretending to be fine with being alone. She prefers keeping her problems to herself. As a result, she's less prone to flailing at the drop of a hat, managing to keep her cool during her day to day life in class and at her job. She's a lot less composed when she actually has to talk to people a lot, but this is never really an issue since she has like zero friends.
Cherry is much more academic than Tsubomi. Tsubomi wasn't a bad student by any means and had no real problems keeping up with her schoolwork, but Cherry is very much a geek, always getting excellent grades.
While more optimistic than a lot of people her age, Cherry is more cynical than Tsubomi and less trusting. She tries to see the good in people, but she has a healthy amount of skepticism and is unlikely to open up to people without anyone forcing her into it.
Abilities: Tsubomi's special ability is the power to turn into a magical girl (or Precure), Cure Blossom. This gives her a range of other abilities, though she can only use them when transformed. To transform, she requires two things. Firstly, her Heart Perfume, which is your standard issue transformation item. It looks like a fancy perfume bottle. The second is a Precure Seed, a small round object sort of like a coin, which is provided by the mascots of the series. In Tsubomi's case, the fairy Chypre summons it for her.
There's also thevery affordable and collectable! other Heart Seeds. These are collected throughout the show by defeating Desertrians, the resident Monsters of the Week. These can be used inside the Heart Perfume just like the Precure Seeds, but instead of making the Cure transform, they grant special powers. The only ones shown in the series are: the red seed, which grants super speed, the light blue seed, which has a calming effect and the magenta seed, which makes a Precure even more strong, physically.
Her standard Precure abilities, which they all share, are:
-Skilled at martial arts.
-Super strength, which also enhances her fighting ability.
-Extreme durability, as she can take many hits before going down.
-Jumping. All Precure are extremely good and quick jumpers and they can jump extremely high in a single jump.
Her personal abilities, which she can use without a weapon, are:
-Blossom Shower. She draws a circle of flowers in the air, which she then fires at the enemy.
-Blossom Flower Storm. She spins in the air, creating a tornado of pink flower petals around her.
-Blossom Impact. She gathers energy in her hands and releases it in one go, firing an energy blast.
Furthermore, she can summon her Blossom Tact, which is her main weapon and resembles a sort of fancy baton. With it, she gains access to even more attacks, though only one of which she can use on her own.
-Pink Forte Wave. This is her finishing move, which shoots a blast of pink energy at her target. This attack is meant for purifying darkness.
-Floral Power Fortissimo. A more powerful attack, which she can only use together with another Precure from her team. The attack engulfs her and the other Precure in energy and they shoot themselves at the enemy. There's also another version of this attack, the Shining Fortissimo, which has gold energy instead of their signature colors. But this requires Cure Sunshine, plus the two Precure using the Fortissimo together, so it may never become an issue.
There's also the Heartcatch Mirage, which gives the Precure access to their super forms, the Super Silhouette. This changes their usual magical girl outfits to altered, white ones with energy wings in the shape of hearts. It also allows them to use a special attack, the Heartcatch Orchestra, which... um... summons a giant lady, who flies at the enemy and slams her fist into them. Yes this is an actual thing. Even summoning the Heartcatch Mirage requires all four members of the team, though.
Finally, Tsubomi's fairy, Chypre, can transform into a cape for Tsubomi. This cape allows her to fly. Tsubomi does not need to be transformed for this.

It's strange, trying to separate memory Echoes from real ones. I keep forgetting that I'm not actually her. I'm still me, of course. But... Every now and then, I wonder if it would be so bad being her. She seemed a lot nicer and more confident than me.
And she was a magical girl too. She fought monsters all the time. I... don't think I can, even with these powers I've gotten.
I don't know. I just wonder if people would like me more if I was her instead of me. Is that strange? Has... anyone else wondered that, maybe?
It's probably just me though...
Any Questions? None.
